My name is Kyle and this is my story. I am a twenty-five year old Colorado Native who has earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and works full-time at Lockheed Martin. I grew up enjoying all the outdoor activities you can do in this beautiful state and have worked hard to keep those pleasures alive in my life, however it has become progressively more challenging over time. At the age of 8, I was diagnosed with an acute kidney disease called Alports Syndrome. In short, it is a non curable disease in which kidney functionality diminishes over time resulting in total kidney failure. I am currently at 13% kidney functionality which has been accompanied by less than exciting side effects, including severe fatigue, insomnia, loss of appetite, and loss of mental sharpness.
Thanks to my ongoing healthy lifestyle I have been qualified by many doctors to be placed on the transplant list. Due to my blood type, type O, I am on a six year waiting list to receive a transplant. As in most health related cases, I am surrounded by family and friends who are very supportive through this tough journey. Unfortunately, none of them are a match or simply can not donate due to other complications. Thus I am reaching out to find anyone who is interested in learning more about making a life-changing difference and becoming a potential donor. The next steps involve finding out one’s blood type and if one is a potential match- tests are provided at no cost to the potential donor. Please see this website for info.
