In Memory of Tony Tom

Dear community,

It is with the heaviest heart that we announce our beloved dad, Tony Tom, has passed away.

Many of us know Tony as the founder of A Bicycle Odyssey in Sausalito, CA. This was such a huge part of his life and identity, and we were all awed and inspired by the community and culture that he created through the shop. He had a mission to help people out, and for 46 years, Tony's passion for bicycles, insight and understanding with customers and the products he had in his store grew a circle of friends and customers from all over the globe.

Tony also devoted himself to his family, especially in the care he provided to our grandma, Ruby. After our grandpa passed away, he became her nighttime caregiver for the majority of the past 4 years. It is for Grandma Ruby that we have started this fundraiser, because we know he would have wanted her to continue getting the around-the-clock care that she needs. Your donations will go directly to Ruby, and the funds may also be used toward supporting us with memorial events and associated expenses.

It's really difficult for us to put into words how much we will miss our Dad and what he means to us, but we greatly appreciate any sentiments, photos, memories, thoughts that you have to share with us at the following email: tonytomtribute-at-gmail.com.

You can also email us if you'd like to be contacted regarding memorial events for Tony. As of now, there will be a memorial ride on December 12, 2021 being planned by the Marin Museum of Bicycling. The family is planning a Celebration of Life gathering in 2022.

We hope to see you at one of these events. Until then, we'll be picturing Tony having a good laugh and wheelie good time with our mom, our grandpa, and his dear friend Robin (had to throw a pun in there; we inherited our dad's sense of humor).
