In Memory of Steve Thurlow

As you most of you know our beloved friend Steve Thurlow recently & unexpectantly passed away on the evening of Monday October 5th.
In September, Steve experienced some very unusual health symptoms that warranted a visit to his local hospital, Soldiers Memorial in Orillia. Here they determined that Steve had water on the brain and he was sent to St Mike's hospital in Toronto. St Mike's began the process of draining the fluid around his brain and upon further medical examination, they detected cysts on his brain. Steve underwent 2 brain surgeries to have the cysts removed, recovery appeared to be going well and he was able to return home with strict orders to rest, not drive and not lift anything more than 10 pounds. The following week he returned to the hospital to have the staples from his surgery removed and again, all seemed to be going well.
Tragically, his recovery took a traumatic turn for the worse over the weekend and he was sent via ambulance back to Soliders hospital and airlifted from there back to St Mikes. Steve was on life support and the family learned that due to blood clots and a massive stroke, there was no brain activity, Steve would not survive without the aid of machines.
With incredibly heavy hearts, the family and his best friend were able to spend some time with him saying their final good byes and the life supports were removed. Steve passed away late Monday night with his loving son Branden by his side.
His son Branden (age 19) will have substantial expenses to absorb as he begins to consider how to celebrate the life and memory of his Dad as well as finalize his financial affairs. While Branden is a strong, responsible young man, this a huge burden for a young man who has just lost his Dad.
We have opened this Go Fund Me account to help Branden take care of these things and hopefully put his mind somewhat at ease knowing he will have the funds to take care of all that is required.
