In memory of Richard Lloyd

Donation protected
As you may be aware, the Isle of Man (Southern) Judo Club recently lost one of its coaches, Richard Lloyd in his battle with coronavirus.  Richard was the head coach for the club for many years and had only recently stepped down in order to take a more active role in adaptive judo on the Isle of Man.

In his memory, I have decided to take on the challenge of cycling round the National Sports Centre's race loop (which is half a mile long) for 24 hours.  This will be a tough challenge as I am not a regular cyclist but I am currently training hard. I have chosen this particular activity, partly to challenge me and also to make Richard proud.

I am looking to raise funds which will be split equally between the Isle of Man Judo squad and the Police Benevolent Fund.  Richard was the head coach of the Isle of Man Judo squad, of which I am a member, and the money raised will be used in order that we can keep training, developing and competing in a sport that Richard was so influential in on the Isle of Man.  Richard was also in the police force for many years and played a part in assisting with the Police cadet force.

We are finalising the arrangements but are looking to hold this event on one of the final two weekends of July and will share the specific date shortly. If anyone would like to come down and ride around for part of the ride or to support from the sidelines that would be greatly appreciated.
