Paul Sulek, age 53, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 after a month-long battle to treat a heart defect that was detected after he collapsed while on a dinner date with his wife, Peg.
Paul was a classically trained chef, a 1989 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. With his wife, Peg, he owned and operated his own little place called DISH on Mack Avenue, in Detroit, Michigan. There, he provided exceptional carry out and catering to his Detroit and Grosse Pointe community for twenty years. He was very proud of DISH, his 26-year marriage, his 1927 Detroit house, his BMW, his dogs and his cat.
We have created this gofundme page in an effort to assist Paul's wife and family in all the financial ways this tragic and untimely loss of Paul has and will affect them. Paul was the backbone of the DISH operation - the sole source of the family's income. His absence will create an immense hardship on the business as well as the family's resources.
Part of Paul's legacy was serving his community by way of creatively preparing food and delivering service with heart felt hospitality. We're hoping that the community will now come together to assist his family; and to contribute whatever possible to honor his memory.
All proceeds will go to Paul's family to assist with their hope to keep the DISH business alive, along with unexpected medical and funeral expenses.
