In Memory of Lizeth Cortez

Lizeth Cortez passed away on November 15, 2020 at UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay. Lizeth was 8 months old when she was diagnosed with a severe combined immunodeficiency disease that she battled hard against for 20 years. Despite all the complications and pain that she endured my sister remained optimistic and tended to see the brighter side of life. Though we are very sad to have lost her we are relieved that she is no longer suffering from pain. We spent many great years with her and will always cherish her memories.
My sister's wish was to be buried in Mexico with her sister, Patricia Cortez, who unfortunately also died very young from the same disease. The funds will be given to Lizeth's parents, Hernan and Rosa Cortez, to help with funeral and travel expenses.
