Mrs. Jones’ daughter-in-law, Kari Neale Jones, posted the following on her Facebook page:

I was only 17 when I met my future mother-in-law. I was smitten by her only beloved son, James David Jones (Dave). Linda and I spent a lot of time together in my younger years. The Jones family business was L & L Racing Stables. Larry (Dave's father) and Dave were licensed Standardbred racehorse drivers/trainers. Linda worked many years at the Spring and Fall meets at Jackson Harness Raceway. She also worked taking horse entries at the Michigan Summer fairs. She loved working the fairs with her bestest friends! At home, she cleaned horse stalls, horse equipment, racing colors, and did everyday barn work. She always managed to have a warm meal before Larry and Dave would ship out for the races. Linda and I would often stay home and go to the movies, but be back in time to watch the horseraces live on satellite television. Linda never rested until she heard the farm truck and trailer pull back into the farm safely. There wasn't a horseman that Linda didn't know! "Once a horseman, always a horseman."

Linda loved and was very proud of her family! She loved going to the casinos any chance she got. She enjoyed playing video poker. She loved her dog, Sadie. She loved Casino Showgirl (Larry & Linda's mare). She liked going to the movies. She LOVED Pepsi! She liked Steak n' Shake hamburgers (mustard & onions). She did NOT like seafood! Her favorite movies were "Dirty Dancing" with actor, Patrick Swayze and "the Bodyguard" with actress, Whitney Houston and actor, Kevin Costner. One of her favorite songs was, "I will always love you" by Whitney Houston. Dave and Linda danced to this song at our 4/16/1994 wedding.

Linda had beautiful blonde hair and green eyes! I like to believe that our daughter Karly got her beautiful blonde hair and green eyes from her Grandma Linda. She loved and begged for all of us girls to "mess with" her hair. She graduated from Jackson High School. She was actually a classmate and friend of my fathers.

Linda desperately loved and missed Larry since his passing 1/27/2013. Her health slowly started deteriorating after having a heart attack only six days after Larry's funeral. She was a fighter until the end. She never stopped doing what she loved.

Dave and I would personally like to thank all the surgeons, doctors, nurses, clinicians, and staff at Henry Ford Allegiance hospital. Linda was treated with utmost respect, dignity, and care during her stay. We will miss her deeply!
