In memory of Kelly Stocker (Smart)

On Friday 12th May we lost our amazing Kelly to cancer completely out of the blue. Kelly was a vibrant young mum to her two young boys, Chase and Blake ,and a best friend and partner in crime to her husband Paul.

In April, Kelly went to her doctor to complain of some pain and shortness of breath. Previously she had been happy, healthy and active. In fact, she was a complete force of nature.

Within a couple of weeks her pain escalated to the point where she could not walk or move around without extreme discomfort and she was only able to leave the house to run her boys to school in a wheelchair. After some concerning blood test results, Kelly was unexpectedly rushed into hospital where she was diagnosed with cancer. Despite fighting with everything she had, her condition deteriorated quickly and she lost her battle within days of going back into hospital. She passed in the early hours of May 12th surrounded by her family. We are truly heartbroken.

She was the heart of the Bovingdon community and the most amazing mother, daughter, sister, wife and friend. She was also Auntie to hundreds of children. She adored her job in Bovingdon preschool where she warmed so many little hearts and nurtured growing minds.

There wasn’t a minute of the day that Kelly wasn’t doing something for someone other than herself. She was chief organiser of every social event, hen-do and charity event. She was infamous for her Christmas fundraising events which raised money for Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood UK , Bovingdon Preschool and Bovingdon Academy.

Her most important job however was being mummy to Chase and Blake. Kelly wanted nothing more than to be a mum and have her own family. She was an amazing parent, never without a day out planned or a craft to do on the kitchen table, and her door was always open for everyone to join in on the family fun. Her heart was full with her boys and husband Paul, but there was always more room for friends, family and neighbours.

Kelly will be immeasurably missed and many didn’t get to say goodbye as we lost her so suddenly. Friends and family had no inkling our time with her would be so short and that losing her would come so soon. Her family now face the unimaginable task of planning the farewell she deserves, and Paul also has to navigate these next steps without the love of his life by his side. Now we want to do what Kelly has done for so many others, but we need your support. We are asking for help to raise what we can to aid her family in their time of need. Please donate what you can. We’re hoping not only to raise money to go towards unexpected funeral costs but to also give her family support while they take the time to grieve and adjust to circumstances that no one should ever have to.

We know how much Kelly is loved and we are all much worse off following this tragic loss.

All our love Kelly, we will all help look after you beloved boys now.
