I'm Ashleigh Broadus Smith and I was blessed enough to call Joy Broadus my grandmother. I'm setting up this page on behalf of the entire Broadus family.
This year has been difficult to say the least. As we close this terrible year, regretfully we lost a loved one that meant so much to so many. Joy Broadus was a loved mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend. Some knew her from Sweet Adelines and some were blessed enough to call her family. Whether she knew it or not, she was the heart and soul of the Broadus family. She loved her friends and family, and always made time to be with everyone.
Unfortunately, financial struggles are felt by all family as arrangements are made. The family has members who have lost their jobs and others struggling in business due to Covid-19. Many people have asked how they can help the family during their time of need. The family is asking for assistance in offsetting funeral arrangement costs as we enter the holiday season. Any donation or contribution that could be made to the family is greatly appreciated. Due to the unexpected nature of her death, regretfully prior arrangements have not been made, and we are being asked to make decisions and financial commitments very quickly.
Any money donated above the cost of the funeral will be used for immediate family expenses and the remaining funds will be donated to a charity chosen by the family.
