In Memory of Franck A. Metellus III

Tax deductible

Franck A. Metellus, aka "Frankie" beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, grandchild and friend to all, abruptly passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018 due to  an asthma attack along with walking pneumonia. Franckie would have been 30 years young on March 4th, 2018.   He had planned a birthday celebration at his newly purchased home with his family and friends.  However, his birthday celebration did not take place, instead his family and friends SADLY celebrated his life on his 30th birthday March 4.

Franckie had no idea that he had walking pneumonia.  He had taken an asthma treatment (which he had informed his mother he was doing).  Unfortunately, he went to sleep and never awakened.

Franckie was an extraordinary young man as he was selfless in many respects. He tremendously valued his family and friends (which were often his only family when his family was absent).   He always helped others (family, friends, co-workers, neighbors) and (even) strangers in need.  He was caring about mankind and animals in a profound way.   (He took pride in delivering 17 puppies in total by himself from his Alaskan husky and wolf husky and ensured the puppies all had good homes.)    His mother said, "he was always a caring and wise old soul".

Franckie was compassionate, caring and considerate towards everyone that crossed his path.  He was always a helper, a fixer and doer since he was a young child.   He was known by family, friends, co-workers and neighbors as a person that would give his last dollar and the shirt off his back to help someone in need.   Franckie was always positive trying to convince others there was something good in everything bad.   His caring nature, love for all, humor and ability to always bring light from dark with his presence will forever be missed.

In memory of "Franckie", Franck A. Metellus lll, his mother, Dr. Leslie Westfield-Baxter and step-father, Grand Master Jerry Baxter are memorializing their son, "Franckie", with Tenazcity, a 501 (c) (3), a nonprofit organization, (which Franckie was a Board member since its inception).  Tenazcity has made one of their priority missions as focusing on enhancing a culture of health for individuals and their families at-risk of suffering from an often-silent killer, a serious respiratory condition.

One of Tenacity's™ missions is to investigate, explore, educate, advocate and provide support services to those experiencing these sometimes-silent lethal conditions. The goal is to decrease and/or prevent the prevalence of unnecessary loss of life due to the lack of awareness, education and/or consistent management of serious respiratory problems.

Tenazcity™ is committed to investigating and exploring new and innovative ways to alert an individual and/or a family member when the individual is in respiratory distress due to asthma, pneumonia and/or other respiratory conditions  which can be potentially lethal.

There are products (e.g. Apple watch, Fitbit and Sleep Tracker) currently on the market that monitor heart rate, respiration and oxygen levels.  Although, these products (fitness tools) were not developed to save lives, there is a possibility that these devices can have extended utility, in that they monitor respiration (breathing) via heart rate.   Many of these these devices have alerts and the ability to access data (an individual's status) via computer.   We believe many devices on the market currently and likekind  future devices  may potentially save lives.

Tenacity™  plans on colloborating  with companies that currently provide wearable devices which monitor and track heart rate and blood oxygen levels - which can indicate respiratory (breathing) problems.   Our goal is to imvestigate and explore the possible utility of these devices  alerting  an individual or family member if or when a lethal respiratory problem  occurs.   There is a possibility, that If Franckie had been wearing one of these devices, he and or a family member could have possibly been alerted to his severe respiratory distress.

A Go Fund Me account has been created to support this cause. Donations will be used exclusively to support the organization's mission.    Franckie's passing from these respiratory conditions could have potentially been prevented if he had been aware of his lethal respiratory  condition and status.

PLEASE help us keep Franckie's memory alive with your  donation to Tenacity's™ Go Fund Me account.   In addition, we ask that you PLEASE share this post with family,  friends and on your social media accounts.  Your  support of our goal of preventing  future loss of life  due to  the sometimes silient killers such as asthma and pneumonia  will  be greatly appreciated.   Saving one life in the future can  also prevent hundreds of lives (family, friends, co-workers, neighbors) from being  tragically  altered forever.

We believe one ounce of prevention may save a life from one of these silent killers in the future .

Franck "Franckie" Antoine Metellus III will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Thank you for your support.
