In Memory of Elianna Soucy
Tax deductible
Hi Everyone,
On September 23rd, I will be doing the Westchester Triathlon in Rye, NY, in memory of Elianna Soucy. Elianna is the niece of my Aunt Jeannie and Uncle Pete, and recently passed away at the age of three after a long battle with Leukemia.
For those who knew Elianna, they know she was the true embodiment of strength, courage, and perseverance. Ellie was born with Down syndrome, and while that brought its fair share of challenges and a countless number of procedures and trips to the hospital (often for months at a time), she never ceased to light up the room with her beaming smile and infectious laugh. Although her time with us was cut far too short, she has left a legacy with her family, friends and local community that will last forever.
In Ellie's memory, I am raising money to benefit the Down Syndrome Association of Connecticut (http://mydsact.org). The organization exists in the belief that "people with Down syndrome are able to live rich, full meaningful lives,” and are given the same opportunities as those without Down syndrome, specifically in the areas of healthcare, education, and employment. The organization provides an extensive number of services, including, pre/post-natal family support, financial planning resources, and advocacy with state and local government for the betterment of people living with Down syndrome. Your donation will help fund the various programs and support groups the DSACT organizes each year for members and their families.
After the race, all contributions will be donated from this page directly to the DSACT.
Please reach out to me directly with any questions. There is no donation too small! Thank you in advance for any support you can provide in keeping Ellie's legacy alive.
John
