My mum was taken to hospital on sunday 29th March 2020. She was diagnosed with covid-19 coronavirus. Within an hour she was heavily sedated and placed on a ventilator to support her breathing. She fought long and hard for 24 days but unfortunately she lost her fight on Tuesday 21st April 2020.
The team of nurses and doctors in the critical care team at the queen Elizabeth hospital gateshead have been absolutely brilliant, they cared for my mum in the way they would care for their own mum. We had daily updates from the doctors and I always spoke to the nurses first thing in the morning. I cannot thank you all enough for the support and care that has been delivered. As my mum passed away due to covid 19 we cannot leave donations at her funeral, so please can you leave a donation here for the amazing team in the critical care team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Gateshead.
