In Loving Support of the Krowka Family

Donation protected
On Thursday the 14th of January at 6:15pm, the Krowka family lost an extremely special person in their life. In the words of his beautiful sister, Agie, their Little Krowks, Davey, Uncle Day Day, and little Krowkie Bear.

David was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis as a young child, which is a progressive and genetic disease that is life threatening, causes persistent lung infections, and limited his ability to breathe over time. In 2016 his disease was pronounced as critical and he was placed on a long transplant list, patiently waiting for a match. On the 14th of August 2016, after spending the night with his family celebrating his 22nd birthday, Dave received the most magical birthday gift of all. He received a new set of lungs.

David underwent a double-lung transplant, which helped to lengthen his life and to, most importantly, allow him to spend more time with his family. Little did we know, he was also heading towards the next phase of the most difficult battle of his life. David’s lungs began to reject and his other organs were suffering, too. In September 2019 doctors told him that he had 6 weeks to live. But he wasn’t going to let that happen. He was determined to walk his sister down the aisle, and be there to meet his new little nephew and nieces.

To our surprise, he continued beat the odds, one time after another. Towards the end he fought a battle that took everything away from him, but he still remained his cheeky, charismatic self right up until his last day.

His beautiful mother Ewa was his full-time carer and would go to the ends of the earth to make Dave comfortable and happy. His siblings Michael, Olivia and Agie, were also taking shifts on who would be there to care and support them, despite having responsibilities of their own, including their own little families to raise.

As we all know, the Krowka family are the most selfless, incredibly resilient and loving people you will ever meet, which is why page is so special.

Funeral costs and supporting his Mum is something that really bothered Dave the most. She dedicated her entire life to supporting him, with most of her savings being spent on medications to keep him alive. Towards the end, a great deal of them were extremely expensive and not government funded.

Dave knew that his Mum didn’t have the funds to cover a funeral, so he began making t-shirts to sell. The day before he left us, he gave his Mum the box which he had collected all the money in from the shirts and said, “use that for my funeral!” He collected $800 and was so proud of his achievement.

Funerals are expensive, and Dave deserves the best send off possible, as he and his family have been through so much throughout their lives. None of this was ever his fault, and what they went through was extremely cruel and unfair.

This fundraiser is being set up to support Dave’s Mum, Ewa, and his beloved siblings.

All of the funds raised will be going directly to the family.

Please write a message for David and the family if you decide to donate. It would mean so much to read all of the loving messages as they flow in.
