In Loving Memory of Rakesh Seetharam

Donation protected
It is with great sadness and disbelief that we announce the sudden and very unexpected passing of Rakesh Seetharam, who was only 38 years old, due to COVID. He leaves behind his loving wife Preethi, and 5 and a half year old son Rishi. As you can imagine, Preethi and Rishi are devastated by the loss of an amazing husband and a loving father.

Preethi now faces the task of being the sole caregiver for their son Rishi after many years of being a stay-at-home mother. It’s beyond any imagination what amount of pain and grief they are going through while also trying to plan for life ahead without her soulmate, their protector and provider. Rakesh was Rishi's super hero and Rishi always tagged along with his dad. While we cannot take out an ounce of Preethi’s pain, we humbly request all of you to please support her with whatever you can to help Preethi to secure Rishi’s future, which was of utmost importance to Rakesh and what he lived for.

Thanks to an extremely generous offer from Rakesh’s employer Paramount Software Solutions, who volunteered to match dollar for dollar, thus doubling the impact of your contribution.

Rakesh loved his life and would always see the positive side in any given situation and would say “There is always more in life to be thankful for than there is to complain about”. So much so, that in-spite of 2020 being a difficult year for him professionally as he was stranded in India due to COVID lockdown, he would say “I am happy I got to spend time with family for one year”. 2021 started with a lot of promises and hopes after a bumpy 2020 and he was looking forward to coming back to the US in the second week of May. But God had his own plans!

Rakesh was tested positive for COVID in the 3rd week of April, and he was in ICU in Bangalore. On the 6th of May, he suffered a cardiac arrest and despite numerous efforts, doctors had revived him only for a few hours before he left all of us in immense pain and darkness on May 7th 2021.

Rakesh loved and cared deeply for everyone around him whether it was his family, friends, or co-workers and he never held back in showing his feelings for us all. He would light up any room he entered with his warm smile, kind words, and the way he treated everyone he met. According to one of his colleagues, GOD stopped making people like Rakesh. Family was of utmost importance to him, they were his motivation for how he carried himself at all times.

Please join us in supporting the cause.
