Sgt. Mark Eckenrode, a 23-year old veteran of the Metropolitan Police Department, passed away from a medical emergency while on duty Monday April 6th, 2020. Sgt. Eckenrode is survived by his loving wife and three children.
Mark never greeted a friend, family member, or stranger without a firm handshake, a kiss on the cheek, and a gigantic smile on his face. He filled every room with his big cheerful personality. Mark was a fearlessly dedicated husband, father, brother, son, friend, and police officer. Upon meeting him, you became instant family, and were welcomed into his life as a brother or sister.
Mark's surviving wife, Alicia Eckenrode, and three children are already greatly impacted by his loss, and will appreciate any support that you are able to donate. All donations will go to Alicia Eckenrode- which she will use towards helping the family to decrease the salary gap that the family is now experiencing.
Mark, with the support of his family, spent the last 23 years selflessly serving others, and now is our time to help serve his family in their time of need.
