In Loving Memory of Kelly Gates

On Saturday morning, January 29, Kelly Gates flew home peacefully into the arms of her loved ones above. Kelly was a remarkable woman; she touched many lives and was known for helping others in their time of need. Whether big or small, Kelly was always there to lend a hand and show she cared in so many ways. She treasured and embraced every moment with her daughters, Chloe and Gabrielle. But above all, Kelly loved being ‘Nana’ to her two grandsons, Noah and Roscoe. There was never a day she did not gush with joy about her two boys.

 

Shortly after moving to Vancouver Island in 2018 to be close to her family, Kelly was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer. Staying true to her fearless nature and faith in God, she surprised the doctors by making a valiant comeback after being told she wouldn’t make it out of the hospital. Throughout the last 4 years, Kelly used all of her savings traveling back and forth from NB to BC where she was receiving the best treatment possible for her condition. During this time she stayed with family as she was unable to work, and this has left no money or insurance to cover any outstanding expenses and funeral arrangements.
