In Jude's Name: Sickle Cell Treatment Center
Donation protected
For my birthday this year I am asking for all my loved ones to make a donation of whatever you're able to the University of Illinois Sickle Cell Anemia Treatment Center. We're making this gift in honor and memory of my cousin, Jude Ademola, who passed away November 15, 2020. He was the kindest, happiest, most positive man (boy? man? he was 26 but he'll always be my sometimes annoying but always laughing baby cousin to me) and with a cure for sickle cell, he'd still be with us today.
UIC developed a cure in 2015, and since then, they have saved 40 lives. A cure for all can happen in our generation. Sometimes I'm a cynic and don't think little bitty donations can do anything in this world of million dollar grants and billionaires, but whatever we raise will help someone, and that's reason enough. Anything y'all give is much much appreciated. For everyone who gives, I will give you a very heartfelt compliment. If I don't know you it might be that I like your bangs or your smile, but I will mean it. Thank you. <3
