In Honor of Mandla Youaleu-Mbomback

Rehoboth Alliance and the Afro Canadian Community of Fort McMurray regrets to announce the sudden death of Mandla Youaleu- Mbomback – a Grade 6 student of St. Paul’s Catholic Primary School.
Mandla and her family were vacationing in the United States of America; the family vehicle was involved in a road accident and she died on the spot late Saturday night in Beaverhead County. Mandla was 12 years old and the oldest child of her parents.
Mandla was a promising active girl in the community; she won the first place position in the Annual Black History School Essay Competition in 2017; was actively involved in her school band and was among the children’s choir who led the Black History 2019 Banquet in singing “O Canada” and other song ministrations by the St Paul’s Catholic School Choir.
Mandla was an asset in her school’s basketball team. She also participated in the Canada Day Parade and just two weeks ago she was at the Youth Black Inventors Program organized by Rehoboth Alliance.
She is survived by her parents; Michel Youaleu-Mbomback, and Mireille Tsafack-Zatcha who is a teacher at St Paul’s Primary School in Fort McMurray and two younger siblings aged 11 and 3 years. Both Michel and Mireille are originally from Cameroon.
A joyful vacation just went bad for this family and now they are faced with serious financial challenges of travelling back home as their vehicle was written-off with one child to be shipped. No parent should go through this experience.
Rehoboth Alliance and the Afro Canadian community has set up this Go-Fund- Me campaign to assist with all the expenses. We are appealing to your kind generosity to assist this family during this difficult time. Every cent raised will go directly to the parents of the deceased.
