In Honor of Kathleen Gressett

I am the niece of Jarp and Kathleen and the cousin to Fernando. I have been honored to be a part of their family, and witness and receive their love, strength, and kindness both to strangers and their family members over the course of my life. The Lord has blessed us with good people and the Gressett family is an example of angels among us.
My aunt- Auntie Gonz, as we lovingly called her- was one of the best people I've had the honor to know in my life. When I was little, I'd talk to her and Uncle Jarp every day or so. I was always so excited to talk to them and share the stories of the day. At the end of the phone call, we always ended the same way: "I love you to the moon and back." As I grew, the calls became less frequent, for good reason, but the love between us only strengthened- of that, I am sure.
My aunt was a beacon of light in this world. Not only did her smile light up a room, but her personality did too. Her compassion and empathy had no limits and the immeasurable kindness of her heart radiated from her easily. She always knew what to say and always had the words of wisdom I was searching for. She had an endless capacity for love too; loving freely and wholly. Whenever we talked, she always spoke with pride and unconditional love for Uncle Jarp, Fernando, and everyone in her life. She was- and will always be- an inspiration and force of good in this world.
On Sunday, Feb. 7th, God welcomed her to heaven with open arms after a long-fought battle against COVID-19 and pneumonia . I suppose he just couldn't wait any longer to bring her home. It's with a heavy heart that I open this gofundme now for Uncle Jarp and Fernando: for the medical bills from Auntie Gonz's hospital stay; for burial expenses or for Fernando's college fund.
I could speak for hours and never be able to describe her impact or the gaping hole she's left in my life and heart. I know I speak for all of us when I say that.
All I can say is: Auntie Gonz, I love you always, I love you to the moon and back.
