In Honor of Eric Ruiz

Eric was born on July 17, 1996. He grew up in Fresno, CA and graduated from Clovis High School in 2014. Eric was the third of four siblings. He was a charismatic and loving brother who admired the arts. His comedic persona assured a smile on your face every time you were in his presence. During his time with us, he lived a life full of accomplishments most don't get to experience at such a young age. He achieved financial stability, spiritual grace, travel, and even the miracle of parenthood. 

On April 15th, 2017, at age 21 he suffered from an AVM rupture, which resulted in Eric losing complete mobility of his body. He lost his ability to speak, walk, and eat,. Basic motor functions like pointing became a draining action for him. Despite all of this, his inner self remained untacked and his charismatic persona never faded. He didn't let his new circumstance hinder his spirit. For the past three years Eric pushed through endless therapies, medical procedures, treatments, and at times, frustrations. Even in those moments, when it seemed like giving up was easiest option, he found the will to continue his fight and persevered. At the end of his journey, a lung infection that spilled into his blood was too much for his body and Eric passed on October 18th, 2020.

Eric left an impression in the hearts of EVERY individual he crossed paths with.  He taught everyone around him to appreciate the little things we all take for granted. He parts onto a better life, leaving behind so many memories filled with smiles, laughter, fun, and happiness. We honor him by nourishing that seed he planted in each of us. By remembering that no matter what path of life we walk, he will remain with us at every step of the way.
