In Hailey’s Memory

I lost my beautiful, sweet, happy daughter Hailey on Dec 26, 2022. She had just turned 21 thirty-four days before she died. We are devastated and lost beyond words. A little about Hailey: She was the happiest person I’ve ever met and brightened everyone’s life that she touched. Almost everyone described her as sunshine and she was. In 2016, I got sick and was nearly completely paralyzed for more than a year. Hailey changed to online schooling to take care of me and she nursed me back to health. I’m able to use a walker, drive and function all due to Hailey and Stella taking such good care of me. It was very hard on them but Hailey learned to “adult” quickly and she did it all with the happy, beautiful spirit she did everything. She was the most incredible big sister to Stella, always providing love, support and comfort; she was a perfect daughter, she regularly woke me up with a good morning text that always brightened my day. Her best friend who she helped through a very hard time just became a head chef and credits it all to Hailey’s love and support. She had already become assistant manager at her job, had just started her own social media branding company and was well on her way to becoming a successful young businesswoman.  Stella and I have decided to move back to Florida as there are just too many sad memories here in Georgia. We are starting a senior cat and dog sanctuary/rescue in Hailey’s name called Hailey’s Haven. She had such a soft spot for senior animals and spent one of her last nights on earth (even though it was Christmas Eve and she had so much to do) picking up and delivering a dog house for a senior dog who wasn’t allowed inside during the cold. She adored Jasper, a hospice dog that we kept and she had a Christmas ornament with a lock of his hair on her Christmas tree when she died. I can’t do much for my sweet daughter now but I hope this will be something that she will look down and be proud of. Maybe it will help Stella and I have a place to honor Hailey and her amazing spirit while also helping senior animals live out their last days with love and comfort in her name. All money will go toward the sanctuary where the cats will have a “catio” to watch birds and nature and the dogs will have paths and many shade trees to nap under. I can’t go into any details of her case as the investigation is ongoing but I will link her memorial so that you can see more about who she was and how much she meant to others. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/kennesaw-ga/hailey-johnson-11085778
