Immaculata Playground Project
Tax deductible
Join the Louisville, KY area Knights of Columbus in raising funds for the Immaculata Playground Project!
Immaculata was the first Catholic school established with the mission to fully integrate children with special needs alongside typically developing students. The academy has a special emphasis to serve children with Down syndrome.
To meet the growing school size, Immaculata relocated. However, the new school grounds lack playground equipment. Playgrounds are important for all developing children, particularly those with special needs.
Playgrounds help:
- Improve perceptual, gross and fine motor skills
- Build core strength & balance
- Brain development, reasoning abilities
- Body and spatial awareness
- And lots more!
Immaculata has been working with KorKat for an initial design for the playground. It is designed to fit a wide range of ages, as well as to maximize the developmental potential for all children. The goal is to raise $50,000 for phase 1 development of the playground, which will cover equipment, a community build, and all playground-certified mulch needed to complete the project.
The Knights would like to have the playground up and running by the next school year, which will begin in September 2017.
The school families, staff and teachers at Immaculata are immensely thankful for your support!
