One of the absolute hardest things to do during a time like this has been to ask for help, but help is definitely needed. Not one person knows the extent of what my family has been through since my mom's surgery on July 11th. It has been a rollercoaster of emotions and an absolute nightmare. My dad was with her every single day and by her side when we couldn't be. He neglected himself, his own health, and his home while trying to care for dogs and think of every single little thing that my mom could possibly need during her hospital stay. And he did it all without a single complaint. Even when the roof of their house caved in, he never complained or even asked for help because he knew my mom would be coming home soon. Unfortunately, my mom is never coming home and my dad needs help while coming to terms with this never ending nightmare. There are so many more things to say, but the bottom line is this: My mom loved everyone, yet never knew how much she was loved. That is something we have to live with, but we are truly grateful for whatever help you can offer and truly appreciate everyone that has helped in some way. My mom was one of the most generous people I know. Even though she didn't have much to give, she still gave all she had until the very end. It cannot be expressed in words how much she is missed and how heartbroken we are. Donations cannot bring my mom back, but they can lighten the load for my dad. Thank you. On Sunday, September 30th, our beloved mom and wife, Lorraine Ildefonso, passed away. She spent 81 days in a hospital environment after her July 11th quadruple bypass surgery. The insurance only covered so much, and dictated when she would need to be moved. My father, Jose (aka Joe), has been holding down taking care of their home and two dogs while needing to make the trips to various hospitals within two counties, daily, to visit Lorraine. During this time, their only real income was from the V.A. and Social Security. Lorraine became incoherent while at rehab, as well as fell out of bed, and was taken to a nearby hospital, where she passed away a few days later.
We are broken.
Lorraine was the glue that held us all together.
Joe needs assistance covering the cost of funeral and burial. We, unfortunately, cannot do this alone. We desperately need your help. Please...please consider donating. Joe has worked hard his entire life to support Lorraine and their three kids (more, if you count the neighborhood kids), through self-employment, and doesn't have a retirement/pension or other financial assets. Lorraine was a bubbly, funny, gullible, silly woman who would pee her pants just a little when you made her laugh too hard. We loved her so much and believe she deserves this final act. She is worth it. Joe would be using the money towards funeral and burial expenses and repairing the roof of their home that caved in while he was at the hospital one day. Thank you so much for reading this far and for your love and support of us!
