Kate's Medical Fund

I've always been an active, athletic person.  I love to ski, snowboard, bike, hike and play softball.  However, at the age of 27 I acquired a virus that shut down the electrical system of my heart and caused me to go into complete heart block.   I had a temporary pacemaker that kept me alive for the next two and half weeks.  Once the virus ran its course, the temporary pacemaker was removed, however the virus was never determined.  The years following that incident had me in and out of the hospital many times; I was told at some point I'd need a permanent pacemaker.  During that time I was blessed to give birth to my beautiful daughter, whom is now 22 years old and attending college to become an elementary educator.  She is my everything!!!!  Nine years ago, I once again went into heart block and had to have the permanent pacemaker implanted.  It is now time to have that pacemaker changed out and a new one implanted.  I do have a wonderful job working in Special Education at the middle school level and I receive health benefits, but that only goes so far.  I'm praying that during this time of miracles, that I will be able to have the financial stress of this surgery be a distant memory.  Please keep me in your hearts and prayers.  Thank you for reading my story and wishing everyone a Happy and Healthy Holiday season!!  Please share my story!!!
