We learned over the weekend that one of our fellow Annihilator Company, 2-8 Cav, 1st Cavalry Division veterans lost his struggle with depression and PTSD. He leaves behind a wife and 5 children in Arizona. Yesterday we learned thaton Sunday evening, another Annihilator was involved in a head on crash in Tyler Texas. He was pronounced at the scene, and his wife is in critical but stable condition. Fortunately, their two children were not in the vehicle with them. The other driver was treated and released, and subsequintly charged with intoxocation manslaughter. The Annihilator Alumni has set up this page in an effort to financially help these two families. The average funeral costs between seven thousand and ten thousand dollars. The immediate money from the VA will top out at six thousand towards this. Add in Christmas for the families, routine bills, medical expenses, and this is enough to collapse any family financially, on top of dealing with the tragadies they are already dealing with. All money donated will be split and go directly to the families, less any fees that this site collects. No one else will benefit from this fundraiser. I was both of these Soldiers Medic during our OIF 06-08 deployment. They were both very humble men and loved nothing more than serving thier country.
