iHeart Iylla - Heart Surgery Fund
Donation protected
On June 26th, 2017, we welcomed our beautiful daughter Iylla (pronounced eye-lah) into this world. Unfortunately, she was born with a congenital heart defect called
Tetralogy of Fallot with absent pulmonary valve. Surgery to repair this was originally scheduled for the week of her birth. Being the feisty little girl that she is, we were pleasantly surprised when the doctors informed us we could delay the surgery and take her home for a few weeks to let her grow.
After being blessed to have her home for two and a half months, the inevitable day arrived. Iylla underwent the first of what would be three surgeries on September 12th. A patch was used to cover the hole in her heart and an artificial valve was also inserted. Seemingly, everything went as planned and she progressed that day. However, upon arrival the next morning (9/13) we learned that a rare infection had formed in her intestines... in addition, the patch on her heart had come loose. That afternoon, Iylla underwent her next surgery to heal the infection.
Following a week of many high's and low's to recover, Iylla underwent her third and hopefully last surgery on September 19, 2017. To ensure proper closure of her chest and that the infection has subsided, she will need to stay in the hospital another 10-14 days before we can finally take her home. Your donations are much appreciated to help cover her increasing medical bills.
Please keep our angel in your thoughts and prayers. She's a fighter and we have no doubts she will come home stronger than ever. We will keep you updated on her recovery. God bless!
