Get Khan a Leg!

Donation protected
Hello there!
Below this update is the original story I wrote in starting this Gofundme page. It's about a five year old amputee I met while volunteering as an English teacher in South Sudan (2013). I went back to South Sudan IN 2015 to try to fetch the little guy, Khan, and volunteered again, this time with a woman's fair trade cooperative called ROOTS Project http://www.rootsofsouthsudan.org/
but was unable to get him out of the war zone. I had to return to the states without him, and let all the kind medical personell who had offered free care, that we would wait.
After much anguish and terror,  wonderful, brave people finally got Khan out of the war zone and into Kenya, escorted by his devoted Grandmother Nyamena.  Khan is living in exile as a refugee, with a kind and loving family. Your generosity (well, and some of my own funds) pay for Khan's schooling and other needs. He is learning English but also still speaking his native South Sudanese language of Nuer.
We are also supporting his aging grandmother who, after escorting Khan out to Kenya, was trapped away from her home because of the war. Now she is an "Internally Displaced Person," living at a UN camp with millions of other people displaced
One thing I have learned is that, because of my love for this one little guy, many people have reached out to help...Then, because of a connection and care for Khan, there is an easier understanding and connection to other children who are in trouble in war zones.
Durhing this process of trying to help Khan, a kind Bishop, John Gattack, helped get my little friend safely over the border and out of his war-racked country. This bishop started a program in one of the UN Camps in the capital city of Juba, South Sudan. Bishop John Gattack Wallam is welcoming, educating and feeding children who have been orphaned in this war. I beg support for this effort, too.  Please specify "Khan" or "Orphans" if you are able to make a donation. If you don't specify, I will simply split the funds evenly between Khan's needs and the orphan project.
War is a sin.
I am profoundly grateful for you taking the time to learn about Khan, and just caring.

Here is the original story about my little friend Khan:
"I'm begging airline mileage points and other help to get a little six year old orphan amputee to the states for healing and care. I met this adorable kid when I was volunteering as an English teacher in South Sudan (summer 2013).
He's having trouble healing from re-currant infections, and had to have his leg re-amputated, to above his knee, just a couple weeks after I left.  Little Khan needs a time of healing and he, duh, needs a leg!
We have both prosthetic doctors and surgeons willing to do the care for free, near where I live. We have 61,500 free airline points (mostly with American Airlines, British Air and United, but we could sure use more, even from different airlines)! We will have to use actual money, not just airline points, for flights in South Sudan, though a missionary group, Mission Aviation Fellowship, has offered to fly Khan from Juba (the capital city), to Nairobi, Kenya.
We'll also need money for passport, visas, vaccines, etcetera. Please lemme know what you think, or just send love and prayers.
It's the end of the year! Tax deductible donations can be sent to Antioch Church, PO Box 881, Madison, VA 22727.
Thanks for even reading this! Have a beautiful day."
