If I only had a HEART...donations for transplant

Hello world, our family has created this page to help the Crofton family during their current and future medical expenses. John is a 54-year-old who has endured three heart attacks, two strokes, and multiple surgeries, deeming him physically unable to work. He has stage IV heart failure and is currently awaiting a heart transplant in New Orleans, 6 hours away from their home. On stand by, once the call is received, John has that amount of time to arrive at the hospital, or the organ is not viable. With one family vehicle, he transports his wife, Deniese, to work and their youngest son, Maximus, to school.

Disability is in place but is minimal.

Doctor appointments are 2-3 times per week and multiple lab visits.

Life-saving medication infuses on a 24/7 drip.

Enduring all of this, he can still coach special needs powerlifting at Jets Barbell, a service he is passionate about.

I have only met with John a handful of times, but he has been a part of my husband's family's life for over 45 years. I spent a few hours on February 23, 2022, listening to his stories and how he is walking through one of the most challenging seasons of his life. Yet, his head is held high, he speaks with great pride of his wife and sons, and he is honored still to coach some of the coolest and strongest kids out there. John exudes joy despite difficult circumstances and even scribes his health journey with humor in a series entitled "John's dying again," found on his Facebook page.

With all that said, expenses are high, traveling six hours away twice a month. However, the cost of fuel, food and lodging is nothing compared to when the call arrives for John's heart transplant. Anything donated is greatly appreciated and will benefit the family through this difficult time. John, Deniese (fondly known as Bob), Noah, and Maximus express the most gracious gratitude.
