IDEA School Lunch Program

The IDEA School is starting a lunch program!
Want to join me in making a difference? More than half our students come from low-income families. Many, we noticed last year, are coming to school consistently without enough food to eat. We augmented with a school pantry, but it wasn't always enough.
We've received a $10,000 seed gift from Studio Rick Joy Architects so we can officially launch a full lunch program in Fall 2019 with a goal of raising an additional $7,500 to sustain it throughout the school year. This program will ensure each child can learn and thrive, and ultimately, stay in school.
We would love to stay in touch with you and have you become a monthly donor, please visit our website & join the mailing list!

The IDEA school is a non-profit (501c3) independent school that serves K-8 students throughout Tucson. Ninety percent of our students attend on need-based scholarships, with more than half receiving 95% to 100% off tuition based on income.
Our school is designed with students at the center of everything we do. Our mission is to provide a child-centered education that nurtures competence, creativity, collaboration and compassion through work that is meaningful to students and promotes lifelong learning. IDEA School students grow to take charge of their learning and therefore their lives, both in and out of school. Our curriculum includes both academic learning and social-emotional learning, the building blocks that lead to success in adulthood. One of our central goals at the IDEA School is to help bridge the education gap by providing high quality education with low student-teacher ratios to children living in poverty.
The Facts:
1. Healthy students are better learners.
2. Schools can influence eating and physical activity behaviors.
3. Healthy, successful students help build strong communities.
4. All students deserve the opportunity to be healthy and successful.
The cost per student to feed them a hot lunch every day is $740 for the year.
Any donation will make a difference in the lives of our students to ensure they have enough to eat throughout the day and the energy to take charge of their learning and their lives.
