One of the most satisfying things is to watch your child blossom into an amazing human being. I have watched my son struggle to find his way in life. That calling and purpose we seek that fills us up. For him it is massage therapy. He finds joy in helping heal people. It isn't just that, but the wisdom and empathy that comes when you are filled.
That spills over to be shared and touch others. That is Ibrahim. He is always ready to help others. A friend said to me, your son is unique. I asked why, and she replied, I just met him and he asked me how my life is going. When I called him and said Eve had cancer and we will be helping her pass, without a thought he said what do you need. When I struggled with my addiction and knew that it effected his life and I apologized, he said, we all make mistakes and we grow and learn from them. When he graduated from massage school and stood up thanking me and his stepfather for our help, love and hard choices. That if not he would have had been stuck longer.
So when I had not heard from him in two months. I became worried. I did finally get a hold of him. I found out that he is struggling. His private massage practice is struggling Because of Covid-19. He works at a naturopathic clinic and it provides some funds but it's his small practice that provides most of what he needs. He has applied for a grant but because he is classified as a health care provider, he doesn't qualify. He is in need of help covering back rent and utilities.
Once caught up I can help him on a monthly basis to stay current. I asked him why he hadn't called for help and he replied I didn't want to bother anyone and I am having a hard time connecting with people when I am under such a heavy stress. This young man gives so much, but didn't think he could receive.
One of the hardest things is to watch your child struggle. I am asking for help from my own friends, those that have watched Ibrahim grow throughout the years, or have been touched by his light.
