Jan St. John's Eye Gaze
Donation protected
My mother, Jan St. John, has been living with Multiple Sclerosis for nearly 30 years. She is a quadriplegic, has limited speech function, and lives in a skilled nursing facility in Charlottesville, Virginia. Despite her serious disability, she has been able to do geneology research, read books online, correspond with friends and family, and fill her days with meaningful projects thanks to a computer system called Eye Gaze. It enables her to use her computer by blinking her eyes in specific patterns; she can type, download photos, access books and music, etc. She was given her first Eye Gaze system through the generosity of The MS Society and private donations. That system has reached the end of its life, and she is in dire need of another. Eye Gaze is my mother's only way of communicating at this point and keeps her from being completely isolated from the outside world. With your help we can purchase a refurbished system for her. Thank you!
