We are absolutely heartbroken to be writing this in memory of our friend and relative, Ian Mousley.
Ian tested positive for Covid-19 on the 10th February 2021. He was admitted to hospital a few days later with breathing difficulties but no one expected the virus to have such a brutal effect on his body. Over the next 3 weeks Ian fought an epic battle for his life but despite his brave efforts, it was a fight he couldn't win. On Saturday 6th March at 1.30pm, surrounded by his devastated family, he passed away. Finally at rest. He was 51 years old.
We cannot begin to describe the shock and excruciating pain his family are experiencing at the loss of this lovely man.
Ian leaves his wife Nicola, 48. He was her best friend and soul mate for over 30 years. It would have been their 25th wedding anniversary on 6th July. He leaves his daughter Phoebe, 24 and his son Oliver, 18. He was their protector, mentor and best friend. They were his world. He was the centre of theirs. Their world is shattered.
He was a loving son and brother, a proud uncle, a loyal friend, a wonderful human being. Everyone who knew him feels his loss deeply. The world was a better place when he was part of it.
There has been an outpouring of support for Nicola and his children and many of you have asked how you can help. Whether you knew Ian personally or not, to watch this beautiful little family attempt to come to terms with his loss is incredibly difficult. We all feel powerless in the face of such overwhelming pain so we have set up this fundraiser in memory of Ian and in support of Nicola, Phoebe and Oliver. Hopefully it will remove a little of the financial worry over the coming weeks and allow them a little space to navigate their grief with one less thing to worry about.
We realise not everyone can help financially (and we totally understand) but you can still help by sharing this, your memories and tributes to Ian or messages of support to his family. Every one is appreciated and brings real comfort in this difficult time.
