As I have been holding space to discern how I might liberate my heartcall, I am excited to share that in several months I will begin serving as a Mission Volunteer in Guatemala with the Susanna Wesley School of Project Salud Y Paz. What does this mean for the "I Am She" project? Well, in my walk of faith, I have learned to be flexible, open, and detached, and to recognize that sometimes things are delayed, but not denied. So, I am reducing the gofundme campaign to $1,800 to cover ONLY the book publishing and gofundme transaction fees. I am also suspending the campaign on November 30th to redirect my attention to focusing on finalizing the book and preparing to live abroad, i.e. raising funds to support my mission work, and continuing to simplify my life here.
ABOUT THE "I AM SHE" PROJECT
"I Am She: The Anthology" is a multi-part poem that is being published as a book. It chronicles my journey to consciousness and my reclamation of my divine identity. This campaign will cover publishing fees for the book and transaction fees associated with using gofundme. In the near future after the book is published, the project will be produced as a spoken word/movement video and a spiritual formation curriculum on identity.
"I AM SHE" PROJECT BACKGROUND
"I Am She" is a tool for helping you live the most authentic version of your life. In February 2014, I resigned from my position as a campus minister for the creative pursuits of being an Author, Speaker, Dancer, Poet, and Activist. At the center of this realignment and reassignment is "I Am She", a poem that the Spirit gave me in the wee hours of the morning 9 years ago. Created as an assignment for my spiritual formation class in seminary, the final class presentation included movements done to a recording of the poem. Since then, everytime I've had the privilege of sharing "I Am She," people have told me how deeply they have been touched by it. Now, I'm completing and refining the work that began 9 years ago.
