GAMBIT NEEDS HELP FOR SURGERY!
For those of you who don’t know, there is a true love story here. Kris is Gambit’s daddy and he fell in love with her at first sight two years ago and adopted her at first sight! Gambit is 5 years old now and has NEVER left his side since. They work together, they sleep together, they visit their friends together and yes, even take long drives out east often together to see the family. You just look at their bond and your heart melts…a true love story! Gambit is Kris’s little Princess at heart.
This morning, tragedy struck! I guess Kris and Gambit have been watching too many Superman movies together because Gambit tried to fly this morning and she jumped off a second story platform to meet her daddy who was on the first level.
After hearing Gambit’s distressful cry for help, Kris rushed over to her side and found her lying on the ground with a deep painful look. Gambit was immediately rushed to the Toronto Veterinarian Emergency Hospital (TVEH) as she couldn’t walk, Kris carry her in. After a full examination by the Doctors and full body x-rays we now know she doesn’t have broken bones but is experiencing pain in her back legs, has torn both her front leg muscles, has injured her head (we are hoping most of this on her head is only bruises and scratches) and she has fractured her canine tooth. Gambit needs to have both her leg muscles fussed in order for her to regain the ability to walk again.
This is where they need our help. If Gambit doesn’t have the surgery soon, she will be in splints and serious pain for the rest of her life. To leave her in this condition is NOT an option!
I am a very close friend to both of them and I am asking for help on their behalf because I have fallen in love with sweet Gambit and I can’t stand seeing her in this condition. My heart is breaking for both of them during this difficult time.
Kris is at a lost; the first bill of $2,100 has been covered with the help of a friend but the quote for the surgery is $5,500. Kris can’t leave Gambit in pain and needs our financial help. As we all know, there is no OHIP for our furry babies and frankly, there is no bank account available to cover the cost for the surgery. This is where the smallest of donation collectively will have a huge impact and is desperately needed as Gambit’s surgery is required ASAP.
