Hi everyone my name is Max Duenas. I am a very lucky proud father of two beautiful healthy kids my daughter Jayda who is 12 and my son Rico who is 8. i never thought i could be blessed in away that i have been blessed with these amazing kids nor did i think i would need the help finanically to ask friends, family and society for help. I am writing this In hopes of getting enough funds to get my 8 year old son to USASA Nationals for snowboarding. With some family challenges, There mom entering treatment for alcohol and drug addiction at Hazelden Betty Ford in Oregon for three months and getting her feet planted in her recovery she is working hard just celebrating 9 months of sobriety today she is still in Oregon. Our two kids and I moved to San Fransisco to be with my family from Durango Colorado where Rico was born and lived for the first 7 years of his life. Since the time Rico could walk he had a deep passion for skateboarding which quickly led to him snowboarding for the first time at the age of 2. His passion was clear for the snow and snowboarding and has been non stop ever since. He began competing at the age of 4 with USASA his joy while riding is contagious although snowboarding is an individual sport he quickly created a fellowship of happy joyous and free riders with the same passion from 5 to 50. These boys couldn't wait for snow so they could join to ride for another winter. Since starting competing he has been invited to nationals every spring and competed well but most importantly had a blast doing what he loves with others who share his passion. This year he was on TSST tahoe select snowboard team. Spending his weekends in Tahoe competing and training. Being invited to nationals again with high hopes of going proves to be more difficult this year with our move to California. We need to get to Colorado and there will be many expenses in doing so. Anything helps we just want to support him pursuing his passion and his absolute happiness. We are excited, hopeful and grateful for any support we receive!!!I am now a singal father of two kids that moved from beautiful colorado back to san francisco with my family.
Rico's main request from leaving colorado was never to stop snowbaording. I told him as his father he would not ever have to. PLEASE HELP HIM!!!!
