Mother w/4 year old in shelter

Donation protected
It's been several months by now. I would like to update  on the status. All your donations ($3000) were paid for their apartment. Because she didn't have a SS#, any credit history or renter's history, income (no work permit), we were rejected 99%. Only one landlord agreed to give them housing month to month ONLY if we pay 4months up front. So, we did. We used all your money and moved Tanya and Mathew to their new home, which is close to the school where Mathew was accepted in the end of December. SO many people were able to help and assist. The response is overwhelming!  Attorneys, psychologists, social workers, nurses, doctors, just regular ordinary people who tried to provide transportation for them to attent psychologists or bring Matthew to school... or help to  move furniture,  - you did make a huge difference for this family.

However, they are not out of the woods yet and still need your donations. While Tanya is still waiting for her work permit, SS# and actual work, we'd ask you to continue donating. If you can, of course.

NOTE: anyone who'd like to request official receipts of our expenses, please contact me directly and I will provide receipts where we spent your donations. So far we spend $200 on Matthew's school, paid transportation (taxi) when we couldn't find a volunteer and apartment.

This is a local campaing to help this young mother who already spent 4 months with this child in the shelter... and I was there today... I met them in person.

If you never know where or how your donation will be used, here it is - every cent you donate, will go to this family, 100%! I will physically deliver every donation from you to her. and will report on it. This is the time to share. and this is perfect opportunity. and it is local. close to home... YOU MONEY WILL GO TOWARDS BASICS, I.E. FOOD, CLOTHES, SHELTER AND MEDICINE.  We need to help them out for 3 months until she gets a work permit so she can find a job. So, your money will go towards helping someone to get started here.

Of course, lawyers are working with her on her case and status. BUT! this family needs basics every day - food, bed, warm blankets, money for medicine (yes, children get sick in winter time) and just a human touch, a care.  They have nobody here!  Imagine a 4 year old without Santa this year? A family meal? a toy for present?  instead he will be eating shelter food (from which he already got food poisoning), sleep with his mom in the same bed (because it is cold to sleep on your own and just so scary) in the room he needs to share with 5 more strangers... No friends to play with.  And it is cold over there.  In case you just want to talk to them and ,maybe visit them and take them out to lunch or bring a smile, a care, a conversation, a candy really, or a small piece of your big heart and warmth of your home, here is her number Tatiana [deleted]. If you know of anyone who can give them a room - would be great! She has money, but court order is that she uses them ONLY for rent. If she does it, they are left hungry.  Shelter food is at least some food...
