台北偶戲館館長蔡易衛今年夏天來紐約進行Fulbright學術交流, 我很榮幸能認識及邀請他拍攝紀錄片, 今天在這與大家分享製作中的先導片。萬事起頭難, 希望藉著這試映會, 邀請鄉親們一起協助及加入我們的行列。

本次試映會是為募集短片製作的經費, 因為時間的關係, 我們在有限的資源下就開拍了。 但是我們需要經費用在剪接,混音, 音樂, 調光, 發行及行銷上面。贊助金額不限大小, 請大家能幫忙。影片完成後, 我們都會邀請贊助者回來看完成的短片。

I, PUPPET is Hsuan Yu Pan’s magical, poetic, and engaging profile of Tsai Yi Wei’s creative and imaginative use of puppetry. This work-in-progress highlights the art form in an imaginative odyssey through New York. I look forward to the final cut.

We are hosting an online work-in-progress fundraising screening for I, PUPPET documentary.

Featured artist Tsai Yi Wei, also the director of Puppetry Art Center of Taipei, is currently in NYC for the Fulbright program. He is well-known in the Potehi (glove puppetry) field in Taiwan. I am very honored to meet him and invite him to be in my latest documentary project. It’s a long-term plan and we started with a short film first.

Thanks again to Director Tsai and his family, and my friends who have been supporting me with the new project. We want to use the opportunity to introduce Potehi to existing and new audiences. We would like to promote the Taiwanese traditional performing art to the world and you could join us to make it happen!
