Dear Members of the Horse Community
As many of you have already heard, our dear friend Jane Casselman is coping with a terminal cancer diagnosis. Ever resilient and always one to see the positive in everything, Jane has made peace with this and intends to live life to the fullest each and every day. She is currently doing what she loves best – selling horses and will continue to do so until she can no longer manage.
The reason we are posting this is to ask for your help. With the progression of the disease, new challenges will need to be met. Those challenges will include the necessity of a full time live-in caregiver, a motorized wheelchair, pharmaceuticals that are not covered by OHIP as well as day-to-day essentials.
The bungalow in Millgrove, Ontario where Jane currently lives with her daughter Emma has two bedrooms and while very cosy, is not large enough to accommodate another person. On this same property, steps away from the house is a small out building that if converted properly, would make a comfortable cottage for a live in caregiver. It requires renovations and while not extensive, a contractor will need to be hired to complete the job.
While time is on our side, we feel that if this work is completed soon, it will give Jane time to deal with the many other important matters that she faces day to day.
In order to help Jane, we have set up a Go Fund Me Page in her name. We are asking for your help in supporting her in a way that will make a significant difference in her life right now. Please give what you can, anything is welcome and appreciated more then you know.
