I Have Stage 4 Cancer, Help Bring My Wife Home.

Donation protected
Short story:

Richard: a medically retired OTR (Over The Road) trucker.  06/22/18  Diagnosis: squamous cell carcinoma.  07/09/18 Prognosis: cancer is inoperable, under tongue, in lung, chest cavity, abdominal cavity...???  1-3 years to live, maybe.

Irma: OTR trucker and Richard's ex-team-driver (they went through truck driving school together in 2007).  Irma has health issues of her own, but can't afford to go home.  She now drives team with her brother.

Richard & Irma: married since 1996, nearly every job together, were inseparable.  Now separated by cancer, making half as much money, while spending $1200-$1600 more monthly out of pocket for medication, plus other new expenses.

They live outside of town and Richard can't drive due to his medication.  Irma gets 5 days off at home about every 28-30 plus days.  Time at home is spent catching up on life.  Little to no quality time between them.

While Irma is out making a living, Richard is at home using the latest in evidence-based nutrition to get as healthy as he can, to stay alive as long as he can (updates posted regularly).

In a strange twist of fate, Richard lives with, and is now cared for by his 78 year old mother-in-law.  Her husband died in 2016 adding to emotional and financial stresses in the household.  She doesn't drive either (20 miles round trip for pickles).

The dilemma?  Richard & Irma have more bills than cash.  Soulmates separated by miles and money.  Living paycheck to paycheck, Irma can't find a local job that pays enough to cover their expenses.

The amount they are working toward will allow Irma to take a lower paying job at home and cover expenses during the transition.  Hopefully a job they can do together.  All while easing her mother's burden and spending much needed quality time with her family.  Especially her husband.

Long Story: With pictures, HERE .

Each donation & share brings Richard & Irma closer together.
