I Dream Library Winter 2022 Fundraiser!

Donation protected
Help create a safer world for Black, Indigenous, PoC, neurodiverse, disabled, 2SLGBTQQIA+ humans through expanding I Dream Library education!

Our organization is about to begin its 5th year empowering 2SQTBIPoC representation in schools. We provide educators, caregivers, youth, and organizations with free 2SQTBIPoC teaching resources, professional development, and equitable policy evaluation frameworks. Our partnerships with arts and culture organizations create learning opportunities beyond the classroom. This year our in-person reach has expanded across Canada and the US and brought us together with incredible changemakers.

HOW YOUR GIFT TODAY SUPPORTS OUR WORK TOMORROW!

1. Winter 2022-23 overhead/operating costs.
2. Update our online installation idreamlibrary.com
3. New Teaching Resources:
  • host guest conversations and classes.
  • the acquisition of film and print resources to share with I Dream Library members
  • a new I Dream Library film on the power of education spaces in gallery exhibitions

ACROSS THE CONTINENT

Stories centering 2SQTBIPoC history and lived experience are being banned, empowered by laws and policies setting the clock back on basic human rights. We are happy to launch this fundraiser supporting intersectional human rights education during Transgender Awareness Week and Native American Heritage Month in the US. Weather you share, contribute, or get in touch to collaborate, each action leads to a bigger change.

IN 2022

1. We hosted/curated 4 public literary spaces! These rooms connect with the themes of major exhibitions and social justice movements. Here, visitors of all ages found a place to read, rest, and become inspired.

Young Activist Reading Room - Small Stories of BIG Change
Young Activist Reading Room - Remembering as Repair
Labour Day at Trout Lake - outdoor library

2. We co-released / featured in 2 short films

3. The commmunity highlight of our year was our work in Hope BC. Along with BC School District 78 and Fraser Health, we lead the community engagement for British Columbia's first intersectional anti-oppression curriculum pilot in public education grades K-4. Thank you Hope Inclusion Project, Free Rein Training, and the community of Hope!

A SPECIAL THANK YOU to the 2022 partnerships that created space for conversations of change: Vancouver Art Gallery , Lush Cosmetics North America , Museum of Vancouver , Vancouver Public Library, Vancouver Mom , CUPE BC, Kits Beach Coffee , and more. Click the links to view our work.

AND FINALLY,

Our gratitude to those who collaborate with us, attend our events, and join us as BIPoC youth mentors in BC schools.

THANK YOU FOR GENEROUSLY CONTRIBUTING TODAY to creating a safer world for Two-Spirit, queer, trans, non-binary, intersex, neurodiverse, disabled, femme, BIPoC everywhere.

This year has been incredible, and your support keeps it going in 2023!
