Founded in 2002 by flutist Laura Thompson, Bacchanalia is an early music ensemble dedicated to bringing music of the 17th and 18th centuries to life through spirited and engaging performances on original instruments. Our mission is to perform early music on period instruments, to enrich the culture of New York by making early music a part of the community, and to foster an atmosphere where early music is supported and appreciated by a wide and diverse audience.
