Ron's Pacemaker Fund

Update- Ron was definitively turned down by AARP medicare today so while we have appealed, the cardiologist canceled the surgery. Anything helps at this point. Thank you. My wonderful father, Ron, is in need of a pacemaker. He was scheduled to have one put in Monday 10/01/18, and was just informed that his medicare won't approve the procedure as it's "going through a committee," which essentially means it's been turned down. This is a NECESSARY procedure. This year, he had a triple bypass surgery. He also is dealing with multiple bloodclots in/near his aorta. Lately, he has been suffering from irregular heartbeats and weakness. We are worried about what could happen if he doesn't have the procedure.
So what are the costs if it isn't approved? $35,000. We are an extremely low-income family. My parents are both disabled and my dad is 70 years old, but he is still working to keep them both afloat. They are the most hardworking people I know, but I know it's hard on him. Ron gets up at the crack of dawn each morning to be the bus driver and events coordinator at an assisted living community. He should be enjoying his retirement, but instead both of my parents are worrying about their health and having enough money to make it through the week. Even if insurance approves the procedure, there will still be a ton of costs, which I know my parents simply cannot afford.
Ron is the kindest and most selfless man I know. He's done so much for so many people. He used to build homes and schools in Nicaragua, he's volunteered for numerous community organizations, participated in and raised money for community theatres, and he's brought so much light and love into our lives since he married my mom when I was 14. He's worked hard and helped support us through so much and I wish I could help him, too.
