Hutchison Cemetery Maintenance Fund

Donation protected
Generations of Hutchison and Houchin relatives are buried in three small country cemeteries in Missouri. Our parents and grandparents have collected money over the years to maintain the cemeteries. It is time for our generation to begin contributing to this effort. The hope is for each of us to contribute a minimum of $10/year. The funds generated will go towards cemetery maintenance to include mowing, debris removal, and other necessary upkeep. If each of us contribute a little, we can accomplish our annual goal and preserve Hutchison family history.

A house next to the Hutchison/Houchin Cemetery in California, Missouri is still standing today. Grandpa Edgar (Cap)’s Great-Grandpa Thomas lived in the house prior to 1865.  Thomas and Lydia (Thomas’s wife) both passed away while living there.  The house later became known as the Cynthia Houchin home. Thomas donated the land for the cemetery that is next door to the house.  Thomas was the first to be buried there. This cemetery has always been cared for by the family. Some of those buried in this cemetery are:

Thomas Hutchison and his wife & Lydia Marsh Hutchison
Thomas Franklin (Frank) Houchin and his wife Cynthia Hutchison Houchin
Mary Ellen Hutchison Harris
Lucy Ann Hutchison Popham & her husband William Popham
William Houchin & Sherman Houchin (Grandsons of Thomas Hutchison)
