Hurricane Help: Caguas Mil Academy
Donation protected
My dad, 1SG Hector Guzman, runs a military academy in Caguas Puerto Rico. This school is a refuge for so many kids, and they look up to him as if he were their own father. For example: This summer one of his former cadets joined the US Army. The first call she made from boot camp was to my father.
He is a special kind of teacher.
The entire island has been ravaged by the hurricane, and people are in dire situations. Last week, he gave his remaining $12 to a stranger who was crying after waiting in line for hours at the ATM with her children - she couldn't get any money out.
He is a special kind of man.
The school is a mess and my dad desperately wants to open it, to provide a sense of security and normalcy for these kids. My amazing brother is currently over there helping, but they need so much more.
School supplies, new equipment, books, furniture... you name it. They could really use your help.
This is a special kind of situation.
The island, the school and my family have a long road ahead of them. But we can take steps to help them get back on their feet. If you've been wondering how you can help, this is your chance.
ALL money will go directly to the academy, and I will do my best to post pictures of progress along the way.
Thank you in advance - you are truly making a difference.
