Hurricane Laura Relief for Ella Boling

Donation protected
On August 27, Hurricane Laura ravaged through Lake Charles as the strongest storm to ever hit Louisiana. Like many others, Ella’s family sustained damage to their homes and have started their journey on a very costly and long road to rebuilding after the storm. In order to safely return to her home and confront heat and humidity amidst wide-spread power outages that are expected to last for weeks, Ella is welcoming monetary or supply donations for several short-term expenses (e.g. temporary living expenses, roof tarp, generator, propane/gas fuel, de-humidifiers, portable AC units, cleaning supplies, portable power banks, towels, disposable eating utensils, hot plates, water, bug spray, PPE, etc). Thank you!

About Ella Boling
Ella Boling is a retired teacher from Lake Charles, LA who recently lost her husband of 40 years in June 2020. During the funeral, Ella also contracted COVID-19 and battled the virus for July through early August. A few weeks later, Hurricane Laura hit and forced Ella from the only thing that was giving her comfort during these extremely trying times: her home. Returning home is Ella’s top priority since she and her husband built this home brick by brick. This home was built to welcome everyone back home for holidays and family events. Particularly, she has several grandchildren that she would like to welcome back into her home for visits since travel is becoming increasingly challenging due to her age and health. Unfortunately, this cannot be done until further damage is prevented and the house is safely restored.
