On August 29th my niece Alexis Johnson (7 months pregnant) was evacuated from her flooded apartment in Houston (see video below).
She lost her car due to the flood water and unfortunately does not have full coverage to replace it.
Alexis works over forty hours a week. She has found herself in a desperate situation.
In addition to the loss of her only mode of transportation, she has lost everything in her apartment including furniture, clothing, baby items, etc. She was only able to grab a few things that would fit into a couple of bags.
She is not the type to ask for help but allowed me to create this fund campaign for her.
She is already an awesome mother and is trying to stay calm for the sake of her baby boy. She is in good spirits as she is trying to figure out how to pick up the pieces.
Please donate what you can and please share!

***Update: GoFundMe advised me that I needed to add the information below. This is in an effort to weed out fraudulent fundraisers (a good thing).
My name is Charles Summerhill and Alexis Johnson is my niece. I live in Sahuarita Arizona but am originally from South Arkansas. The funds raised will be used by Alexis to find a dependable car and help replace lost items (everything) from the flood. Although $5000 will not cover all of her losses, it will be an amazing start towards recovery. Alexis will have full access to the funds and will be able to post updates and thank you messages on this site. Withdrawals of funds will be made entirely by Alexis Johnson and I will serve only as an administrator.
