Hi, everyone. My name is Lindsay and I've decided to set up a donation for my sister, Mary Tinsley, in Texas.
I live across the country (D.C.) so I can't be there to help her clean out her water logged house or watch her rescue dogs for her while she gets her affairs in order, but I can do this.
In addition to Mary running a dog rescue out of her own home, my brother in law Justin has been out on boats with his family helping out other people during the hurricane.
Their home currently has 4 inches of standing water in it. The house is barely a year old. I'm asking for donations to help them out with running the dog rescue, getting them things they need to help with the house, and all the supplies needed to help people in the Houston area. You've seen buttons on Facebook to help the people hurt by the hurricane, and that's wonderful, but since this is a personal donation, I can tell you exactly where your money will go. As of now, their washer, dryer, refrigerator, and bed are all ruined. They'll need as much help as they can get cleaning all the grime out of their home as well.
They are very compassionate people and will most likely also try to help their neighbors as well, but their house is in disarray. If you feel like donating to this, great. If not, I completely understand.
EDIT: I will be sending all the money from this page directly to my sister and brother in law in Texas. I will, in no way, be keeping any of it.
