Hurricane ETA -Reconstruction of Brisas del Rio

It all began November 5th, 2020 with the arrival of Hurricane Eta in Honduras, which has caused grave damage due to multiple floods all over the country.
The Brisas del Río community is located in the Municipality of San Marcos, Santa Bárbara, where the Chamelecón River stands. The river has presented over 4 meters of increase in its flow, which is way more than what has been registered in past hurricanes. The river ended up completely flooding this small community of 18 homes. (15 children and 27 adults).
Out of these families, 2 have lost their homes in their entirety and 16 homes were severely affected in their infrastructure. The river also destroyed all of their crops, which has always been their main source of income.
It should be noted that Brisas del Rio is a community located far from other towns, therefore is difficult to reach. The river destroyed the only bridge that served as a gateway to other communities and sources of work. This has only made things harder for the community, since they do not have any more transportation methods. In addition to this, the people have been left without the basic necessities for survival. They have run out of clean water, electricity, and have also lost their homes.
The funds raised will be used to rebuild their homes and purchase household goods for our brothers and sisters from Brisas del Río.
