Enthusiasm, comedy, charm and a heart that is larger than life when it comes to family and friends, are the first things that come to mind when you think of Hunter Hoebel. He's also a water polo player, rock climber, and a typical 15 year old boy testing limits and pushing boundaries while taking advantage of all life has to offer. And now, after everything he has endured over the last 4 months, we can add INVINCIBLE to the list of character traits of this amazing young man!!
In December 2013, we got the call that Hunter was in the hospital after being hit by a truck while crossing the street in front of Canyon High School. He sustained multiple injuries which included a broken arm, broken leg, rib fractures and a punctured lung. After several procedures, a lengthy hospital stay and extensive rehabilitation therapy, Hunter was making a full recovery when we recieved another devastating call....
On March 27, 2014, Hunter was admitted to CHOC children's hospital and diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) T-cell type. He underwent several procedures the following day, including his first Chemo treatment. He will undergo aggressive Chemotherapy over the next 29 days in an effort to get him into remission - after remission, he will continue treatments and be in and out of the hospital for the next 6-9 months.
The emotional and financial burden of Hunter's medical treatments will be extraordinary over the next year so we are hoping that with the help of family and friends, through GoFundMe.com, we can provide some financial support and bring Hunter's family a little peace during this difficult time. Every contribution will go directly to help pay for Hunter's medical care and most importantly, his RECOVERY!!
I'm sure it comes as no surprise that Hunter's spirits are high, he is still hilarious and providing the entire family with the strength WE need to get him through this!! We are overwhelmed with gratitude for all the thoughts and prayers and thank you all for your help pand continued support.
