Hunter McGuire is 2 ¾ years old and loves CARS, The Wiggles, Freddie Mercury, The Muppets and ‘Chase’ his Paw Patrol toy...
Hunter was diagnosed at 10 months of age with JMML Leukaemia - (that’s a rare one with less than terrific odds)...
Last year Hunter underwent Chemotherapy, a Bone Marrow Transplant & multiple surgeries...
He also spent 4 months in isolation.
Sadly Hunters treatment last year was not successful and he has had to undergo the same gruelling treatment all over again – only this time it is worse, as his little body has been ravaged by the Chemo and many medications....
Hunter hasn’t eaten for over 18 months and is often in pain. He has a tummy peg in place for food
It is now 60 days since Hunter was admitted (March 2017) for his 2nd Bone Marrow Transplant...
The side effects of the BMT and chemotherapy are particularly horrific and when seen on a little boy – heartbreaking.
In his almost 3 years Hunter hasn’t been allowed to go to public areas or be around other children etc
The Doctors explained this to us as “The common cold could kill him...”
His parents don’t complain but had a damn rough trot...
Almost 2 years ago Hunters Mum and Dad moved into our 1 Room granny flat to be near the hospital–His Mum, Crystal, spends every day & most nights at his side.
Dad Ben works 6 days a week and after spending each evening at the hospital he goes home alone after his 16 hour days...
The Major Oak Theatre Restaurant are planning a Fundraiser on August 5 - & it is currently SOLD OUT.
We hope to help them rent a comfortable, warm/dry home, a reasonable distance to Westmead Childrens Hospital as Hunter requires many years of weekly visits, tests & ongoing treatment.
Any help is very gratefully received as are prayers and positive thoughts!
